"My friend, I stand in judgement now and...
feel that you're to blame somehow...
On earth I walked with you day by day and
never did you point the way.
You knew the Lord in truth and glory, but -
never did you tell the story.
My knowledge then was very dim -
You could have led me safe to Him.
Though we lived together on the earth
You never told me of the second birth.
And now - I stand this day condemned
Because you failed to mention Him.
You taught me many things that's true
I called you friend and trusted you
But I learn now, that it's too late
You could have kept me from this fate.
We walked by day and talked by night
And yet you showed me not the light
You let me live and love and die
You knew I'd never live on high.
Yes, I called you 'friend' in life
And trusted you through joy and strife
And yet on coming to the end
I cannot now, call you, my FRIEND."
Welcome to Resurrection Truth; I put these few pages together to briefly explain how GOD has given us a detailed blueprint of his plan to harvest the earth. The Laws of harvest, the three feasts that GOD commanded all the Sons of Israel to appear before Him contain all the information we need to understand how the resurrection will take place. Christ came to fulfill these Laws, He completed the Passover (unleavened bread), He then arose on the early morning hours on the day of the waving of the sheaf of firstfruits (the omer), He arose as the High Priest forever to bring the true sheaf before GOD "the body of his sacrifice" so the harvest can be accepted and used of GOD. As the veil in the temple was rent it was not possible for the earthly service to continue as the shadow of what Christ was coming to do. And after the fifty days (counting of the omer) Christ raised the first loaf of firstfruits to GOD according to Law, as not one tittle shall pass from the Law until all is fulfilled. This is the resurrection that Christ left for us to learn in the new testament as it reveals the beautiful mystery GOD has hidden so cleverly in his Law.
I have been in the study of Christian Eschatology since the beginning of 1985, in those years I was fascinated with the teaching and the hope of a Pre-tribulation Rapture, becoming quite popular in those years by the writings of Tim LaHaye and Jerry B.Jenkins, the "Left Behind" series of books that have sold over 60 million copy's. As well as the air waves being filled with televised programing from pastors, teachers , and Evangelist as the likes of Dr. Jack Van Impe, Pastor John Hagee, and others who all have their versions of a Pre-Tribulation Rapture with sleight cunning variations, all of which are completely and totally, WRONG !
The rapture has a lengthy history in the United states dating back to the 17th-century, the pre-tribulation rapture began to surface in new testament commentaries by Philip Doddridge and John Gill, but the teaching gained influence with Baptist Morgan Edwards, and evangelist John Nelson Darby, in all... the word Rapture had developed into a teaching all of it's own.
The word "Rapture" does not appear in any new testament translations from the original Greek manuscripts. in 1thessalonians 4:17 the Greek word for "caught up" is (harpagisometha) which means "we shall be caught up" or "taken away" as a sudden event. From that word (harpagisometha) was translated into the Latin Vulgate as "rapiemur" meaning "to catch up" or "taken away". And from that the early new testament commentators of the 17th and 18th century used the french word "Rapture" being derived from the the Latin "raptus" ("a carrying off").
Such as it is,... all this comes from 1thessalonians 4:17, of which the Apostle Paul explains how the believers who are living shall be taken up to meet the Lord only after those who have died in Christ shall be raised first, "in the resurrection".
With out a doubt, as far as we have come in Christian History we should all have an accurate and solid understanding of this event being that GOD has given us so much in His word about this Blessed Hope we all share in as Christians. My personal thoughts on this is that we being mankind so small in mind we still have a hard time seeing the obvious.
There is a substantial amount of writing in the new testament of which undeniably parallels the resurrection to the harvest of the earth, I think that should be quite obvious to most readers, I would hope... I could fill page after page of quoting Jesus from the new testament, but I will quote from Revelation 14 since it is "The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass" Revelation 14:15
And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.
I think to most readers unlearned and those well scripted through years of study will have no objections to accepting and believing that the resurrection of Jesus Christ is GODs harvest of the earth for all who believe.
But why are there so many variations of teaching on this? because we do not follow the patterns GOD gave to us in His Laws. As David recorded in Psalm 1
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper
